Class Guide
Beginners.
Whether you are new to yoga or haven't done any yoga for a while, these classes emphasize the fundamentals of yoga while presenting the poses and sequencing the class in a challenging and fun way. While there is plenty of action from the start of the course, more difficult positions can be practiced safely and effectively as the term and the group progresses. If you are interested in learning a strong, effective and rewarding style of yoga, this is where you begin.
Please note: While all classes in the yoga shala are taught with a consistent ethos, we trust our experienced teachers to deliver a class in a safe, effective and yet challenging way so that everyone in each class has a great practice. You'll never experience the same class twice, all our teachers are different and brilliant in their own way so enjoy the variations on a theme and let us as a group enhance your yoga practice.
All Levels
Follow on from beginners, we presume students are familiar with intermediate yoga postures (including inversions and backbends) which are introduced at the end of beginners courses. In these classes you will use your knowledge of postures and breathing to practice exciting, physically demanding and challenging sequences and variations. More challenging variations are offered for more advanced students. The pace of these classes is faster, you will go deeper, and your teacher will help you achieve breakthroughs in your practice and your self-awareness. We recommend you have a year of solid Yoga under your mat before you join these classes.
